Trip PlanExpand all

Phase 1: Meet up at Tribhuvan International Airport domestic terminal

A representative from Mystic Adventure Holidays will receive you at the domestic terminal at Tribhuvan International Airport. If you need, we can also pick you up from the hotel and drive you to the airport.

*Note: Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour begins early in the morning. The flight time from Kathmandu is usually around 6:30 am to 7:00 am. Depending upon the weather conditions, the flight may fluctuate. Our pilots make sure to thoroughly inspect the helicopter before each take-off.

Phase 2: Flight briefing with captain introduction and boarding

Shortly, you will meet the flight instructor, who will brief you about the guidelines and safety during the flight. After the briefing, our pilot will say hello to you, and the boarding process will begin. If you have any questions, do not hesitate and feel free to ask during the briefing.

Phase 3: Flight to Lukla and refueling

Altitude: 2,846 m

Lukla is a famous airport for its thrilling take-offs and landings. It is also the starting point for a trek in the Everest region. Around 35 minutes of flight from Kathmandu will take you to Lukla airport (2,846 m), where you will take a short 20-minute break to refuel the helicopter and refresh.

Phase 4: Flight to Kala Patthar from Lukla

Altitude: 5,644m

You will fly high from Lukla airport towards Kala Patthar, a popular viewpoint. It will take approximately 15 minutes to get there. You will be flying above 5,500 meters. You will fly over Namche Bazar and see lovely streams and rivers below.

*Note: Landing at Kala Patthar above 220 kg is prohibited. If the weight exceeds this number, then a shuttle flight to Pheriche is needed.

Phase 5: Sightseeing and stopover at Kala Patthar (5,644 m)

Ground Time: 10 minutes

You will stop for 10 minutes at either of the places. As you are at a very high altitude in a very short time, we do not allow more than 10 minutes to stay. You can admire the views and take pictures. Because of strong wind and high elevation, the pilot cannot turn off the helicopter engine, so the time frame cannot be exceeded.

Phase 6: Return flight to Hotel Everest View (Syangboche) and breakfast

Ground Time: 30 minutes

Altitude: 3,780 m Syangboche Airstrip & 3,962 m Everest View Hotel

The Everest Base Camp helicopter tour then takes you to the Everest View Hotel. You will land at the Syangboche airstrip. The views during the flight are sensational. The locals will be happy to see you. You will enjoy a delicious breakfast along with excellent mountain views and celebrate the completion of a dream trip.

It will not be an ordinary breakfast. You will get to enjoy some world-class champagne, followed by delicate cuisine.

For your information, Everest View Hotel is the highest-placed hotel in the world and was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records in 2004.

Phase 7: Flight back to Lukla and stopover for refueling

Altitude: 2,846 m

You will take a quick 15 minutes to stop at Lukla before heading back to Kathmandu. The pilot will do some flight procedures and refuel the helicopter.

Phase 8: Flight back to Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu)

Enjoy the last views of the snow-capped mountains during the flight. It will take another 35-minute flight from Lukla airport to Kathmandu domestic airport. The return flight will take you over the ancient Tengboche monastery and Khumbu Glacier.

Phase 9: Customer review regarding the flight

It is a short space we have separated to take a direct review from you regarding your trip experience. We will hand out a form to you that you can fill up with your genuine feedback. Your feedback is important to us to enhance our journey and offer top-notch service. Later, you are free to go on your own, or we will drop you at your hotel.
