Tibet

Tibet is an autonomous region of China known for its unique and historically rich areas. This beautiful area is surrounded by countries like India, Nepal, Bhutan, and Myanmar. The Tibetan capital city is Lhasa, which is globally famous for the rich cultural and historical heritage. 

The source of the major rivers like the Indus, Brahmaputra, and Yangtze is in Tibet. Around Tibet, there are popular mountainous regions, including the Everest Mountainous Region. Even though the top of the Everest lies in Nepal, some portion on the north still comes in the Tibet region. 

It is true that Tibet was once an independent state. However, the region is now occupied by the People’s Republic of China. The total area of Tibet is around 3,137,901 and is an autonomous region of China. In Tibet, Mongols used to rule Tibet in the 13th century and in the 18th century, the Qing dynasty ruled there. 

Besides the political situation in Tibet, the area is culturally rich. People of the Tibet region follow Tibetan Buddhism. Numerous festivals, including the Tibetan New Year and Monlam Prayer Festival, are celebrated here. The popular music performance named Folk Opera is popular here. 

In terms of art and architecture, Tibet is one of the places where you can see the great arts. Thanka Paintings, intricate murals, and statues found in the monasteries are the proof of it. 

The Tibet region is also rich in hospitality and food diversity. You can enjoy the variety of the Tibetan cuisines, including tsampa (barley flour), momos (dumplings), and butter tea. There are other varieties of items to explore and taste.
